Crispy Methi Poori

About the Recipe

Methi poori is a crispy, tasty and spiced pooris made form wheat flour, fenugreek leaves and spice powders. They can be served as snack with hot tea or with any curry of your choice. They can be stored in an air-tight container. The pooris can be packed in Oddy Uniwraps to keep them fresh for a long time. Ingredients

 

  • Water-1/2 cup & Salt-for taste & Sugar-1 tsp (optional)
  • Chopped Fenugreek leaves or Methi -1.5 cups
  • Wheat flour-1 cup & Coarse wheat flour-1/2 cup & Oil-2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp & Red chilli powder-1.5 tsp & Roasted cumin powder-1/2 tsp
  • Sesame seeds-1 tsp & Oil-1 tbsp and for frying
  • Oddy Uniwraps

Directions

 

  • Heat water in a vessel, add salt and sugar to it, and boil it. Switch off the flame, add methi leaves to it, cover it, and let it rest.
  • Take both wheat flours in a bowl, add oil to it, and knead well. Now add spice powders to it and mix.
  • Add sesame seeds to the boiled methi and add it to the flour mixture. Add enough water and salt and knead well to make a soft dough. Grease with oil and cover; let it rest for 10 minutes.
  • Make small balls from the dough and roll them flat as shown. Make small cuts on rolled poori dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  • Heat oil on a medium flame. Fry the poori in hot oil on a medium flame. Let them fry until they turn brown and crisp.
  • Remove them from the oil and take them to a plate. The crispy methi poori is ready. Pack them in Oddy Uniwraps if you are packing for travel.
