Crispy Methi Puri Recipe

About the Recipe

Here we present the recipe of Fresh Methi Bhaji Puri. Usually we make Methi Puri or Methi Namakpara as dry snacks but this recipe is made using the Chickpea Flour. You must try making it during the winter season. Use Oddy Uniwraps to flatten out the dough of Methi Puris and you can also store in it for longer.

Ingredients

 

  • 1 1/2 Cup Besan/Chickpea Flour & Oddy Uniwraps
  • 1 Cup Fresh Chopped Methi Bhaji/Fenugreek Leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Hing/Asafoetida
  • 1 1/2 tsp Coriander Cumin Powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 tsp or as required Ghee (For Moyan)
  • 4 tbsp or as required Lemon Juice (For kneading the dough)
  • Ghee (as required for Deep Fry)
  • Rock Salt/Sendha Namak (For Sprinkle on Puri)

Directions

 

  • In a container, take gram flour and add asafoetida. To this, now add coriander, turmeric and cumin powder.
  • Then add 2 tsp ghee and mix all of this well. Don't add salt or rock salt while kneading the dough.
  • Then add 1 cup of fresh methi leaves and mix it with besan. Slowly add lemon juice to the prepared mixture and mix this well.
  • Don't add water to knead the dough. Pour ghee on dough and prepare small balls of it.
  • Press dough balls with the help of palm. Roll medium thin puris using Oddy Uniwraps as base. Prick the puris using the fork.
  • Deep fry the puris in ghee and fry it until it becomes crispy. Once done, pack them in an airtight container lined with Oddy Uniwraps.
