Crispy Rice Chakli

About the Recipe

Crispy Rice Chakali is a favorite evening tea-time snack. This recipe will use less oil and give flavourful, crunchy, and crispy chakali. To store chakali and maintain freshness, use Oddy Uniwraps. It can further be used to store chapati, paratha, sandwiches, burger, rolls, pakode Also, Oddy Ecobake can be used to fry, steam, and bake food. Ingredients

 

  • 4½ cup rice flour & 1 cup roasted split grams (channa dal)
  • ¼ cup coriander cumin powder & 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp asafoetida & 3 or 4 tblsp chakali masala
  • 3 tblsp white sesame seeds & 2/3 cup oil
  • 1 tsp Ajwain (carrom seeds) salt to taste.

Directions

 

  • Finely grind and sieve the roasted split grams (channa dal). Sieve the rice flour too. Mix both flours together.
  • Add turmeric, chakali masala, sesame seeds, coriander-cumin powder, asafoetida, ajwain (crushed slightly between palms, salt as required, and oil. Mix all the ingredients well.
  • Use hot boiling water to knead the dough. Mix the water and ingredients with a spoon as the water is hot. Then knead a firm dough. If required, use more hot water to knead.
  • Cover and let the dough rest for 10 mins. Knead the dough once again. Put the dough in a chakali maker machine (grease the machine from the inside).
  • Make the chakali on a backside of a small plate for a uniform circle and shape. Heat the oil, and fry the chakali for 30 seconds on one side and flip on another side.
  • Keep on frying on both sides uniformly. When the chakalis sink to the bottom of the pan and the oil bubbles reduce, the chakali is ready. Remove from oil and keep on an oil-absorbing paper like Oddy Uniwraps.
