All-time Favorite Jeera Biscuits

Are you searching for a snack to make on a rainy day? This recipe for namkeen (salt) biscuits, which was a favorite snack for kids in the 90s, can be made easier with the simple ingredients available at home within a few minutes. The Oddy Ecobake cooking paper, which is safe and convenient, is used in the recipe to roll the dough smoothly and bake the crispy biscuits.

Ingredients

 

  • Milk-1/4 cup & Melted butter – ¼ cup
  • Salt -1/4 tsp & Maida/ All- purpose flour -1 cup+1 tbsp
  • Instant yeast-1 tsp & Baking soda – ¼ tsp
  • Spring onion leaves-3/4 cup & Sesame seeds – 1 tsp
  • Square cookie cutter

Directions

 

  • Add milk, butter, and salt to a bowl; whisk and mix well. Now add the flour, yeast, and baking soda, knead well, and make the dough. Add spring onions and sesame seeds and knead again. Cover it and rest for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, a soft dough is ready. Layer the dough between the sheets of Oddy Ecobake and roll thin as shown. Cut it using a square cookie cutter and poke holes in it using a fork.
  • Spread all the biscuits on a baking tray lined with Oddy Ecobake cooking paper. Bake for 11 minutes at 170 degrees Celsius. The crispy and brown namkeen/salt biscuits are ready. Serve with a cup of tea.
