About the Recipe

Roasted gram modak is a modak recipe made from roasted gram, jaggery, and sugar. It can be made during festivals or any other special occasion. Oddy Ecobake helps prepare the modak without greasing it with ghee or butter. Hence, no additional cleanup is required.

Ingredients

 

  • Roasted gram - 1 cup
  • Jaggery - 1 cup
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
  • Water - 2 cups
  • Oddy Ecobake

Directions

 

  • Roast a cup of daliya or roasted gram in a pan for two minutes until it turns aromatic. Grind them into a fine powder.Melt jaggery or sugar in 2 cups of water in a pan.
  • Transfer the roasted gram powder to a pan and sauté it with ghee.Strain the jaggery syrup, add it to the ghee powder, and mix them well.
  • Stir continuously until they turn into a thick paste.Add cardamom powder to the jaggery-roasted gram mixture and mix well. Transfer the mixture to the Oddy Ecobake.
  • Fold the mixture to form a good shape using the Oddy Ecobake. Take small portions of the sweet, make modaks of the desired shape, and enjoy!
