Desi Style Raw Banana Fries

About the Recipe

Raw banana is called “Vazhaikkai” in Tamil. Make this raw banana fry quickly as an evening snack, fried in hot oil and sprinkled with salt and pepper powder. It can also be served as an accompaniment for your curd rice or sambhar rice when tempering is added to it. The fries are served in a healthy way by serving them in Oddy Uniwraps, which can be cut to your ideal size and are safe to use and reusable.

Ingredients

 

  • Raw banana
  • Salt
  • Pepper powder
  • Oil-for frying
  • Oddy Uniwraps

Directions

 

  • Wash, peel, and cut the raw banana into thin, long finger slices as shown. Soak them in water to avoid discoloration.
  • Drain water from it completely. Add salt to it and mix well.
  • Drop them in hot oil and fry for some time until they turn crisp. Fry them in batches.
  • Sprinkle pepper powder on it and serve it hot as an evening snack.
  • Cut Oddy Uniwraps to the required size, roll it into a cone, and serve the raw banana fries in it.
  • You can also add a tempering of mustard seeds and curry leaves fried in a little oil to it and serve it as an accompaniment for your curd rice or sambhar rice.
