Hara Moong Poori

 

About the Recipe

Whole green gram is rich in antioxidants and offers a number of advantages for your body and skin. Make this delectable Hara Moong poori, which is made with green gram that has been cooked and has had spices added. When fried in heated oil, pooris become crispy and can be kept for a long time in an airtight container. By utilizing Oddy Ecobake, which is excellent and secure to use because it is food safe, non-sticky, and reusable, the pooris can be rolled thinly effortlessly.

Ingredients

 

  • Green moong or Whole green gram- ½ cup & Water- ¾ cup
  • Salt- ½ tsp + ½ tsp & Chopped green chillies-3
  • Chopped coriander leaves- 1 cup & Black pepper powder- ¼ tsp
  • White sesame seeds-2 tsp & All-purpose flour- ½ cup + ½ cup
  • Turmeric powder- 1/8 tsp & Asafoetida- ¼ tsp
  • Ghee-1 tbsp + 1 tbsp & Oil- for frying
  • Oddy Ecobake

Directions

 

  • Clean, wash, and soak the whole green gram for at least 6 hours. Drain the water after 6 hours and cook it along with water and salt for 5 to 6 whistles.
  • Grind together green chilies, coriander leaves, and salt into a paste.
  • Now add pepper powder, sesame seeds, and ground paste to the cooked green gram, mash, and combine well.
  • Then add all-purpose flour, turmeric powder, asafoetida, and ghee to it and knead well. Add more flour and ghee to make a soft dough.
  • Grease with ghee and knead. Pinch a few small balls of dough and set aside. Press each of them flat and thinly between Oddy Ecobake using the back of a cup.
  • Arrange them on a cloth and let them dry for at least an hour. Flip and dry again for 30 minutes. Poke holes in each using a fork.
  • Heat oil in a pan; fry each of them on both sides on a low flame until they turn crisp and golden brown.
