Healthy Til Chikki

About the Recipe

Healthy Til Chikki made with white sesame and Black sesame seeds is a very healthy and nutritious homemaker chikki. While rolling out chikki, use Oddy Ecobake. It is greaseproof and doesn’t require oil or ghee greasing. The chikki will come out smoothly. Oddy Ecobake is healthy, safe, and reusable for cooking purposes.

Ingredients

 

  • 125 gm white sesame seeds
  • 125 gm black sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup roasted peanuts, 250 gm jaggery
  • Oddy Ecobake and little water
  • 1/4 tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp green chilli paste & 1/4 tsp eno

Directions

 

  • In a kadhai, roast white sesame seeds and black sesame seeds separately on low flame. Roast till color changes.
  • Remove from flame and mix it. Crush the roasted peanuts. In kadhai melt jaggery and add a little water. Allow it to boil and form a syrup consistency (gud pak).
  • To check if done, pour a little melted jaggery in water. It should turn hard and solid. in the meantime, take Oddy Ecobake and keep it ready to pat the chikki mixture.
  • Once the jaggery is done, add both the sesame seeds and peanuts and mix well. Place Oddy Ecobake on kitchen platform, pour the chikki mixture.
  • Pat it with palms. Place Oddy Ecobake over it and roll it flat with a rolling pin. With a knife make the cube markings.
  • Do these steps while the chikki mixture is still hot. Allow it to cool and then separate the chikki pieces.
  • If the chikki leftover sides break, then warm it on kadhai with little water and repeat the steps.
