About the Recipe

Magas tastes nutty, and sweet just like besan barfi or besan ladoo and is a popular Gujarati sweet. It has the same flavor as besan barfi but the texture is not smooth. Oddy Ecobake helps set the texture and shape of barfi.

Ingredients

 

  • Coarse gram flour 2 cups
  • 1/4th cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup ghee
  • 1/3rd cup milk
  • Charuli
  • Badam pista thinly sliced

Directions

 

  • In an iron kadai add ghee, let it melt completely. Add coarse gram flour, mix well and roast for 15-20 mins on low flame. Keep on stirring to avoid lumps.
  • Add milk, little by little and mix. Keep stirring. And let watery texture evaporate from the mixture. Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
  • In a mold place Oddy Ecobake sheet instead of greasing the mold. Food does not stick in Oddy Ecobake and also it is eco-friendly.
  • In the mixture add powdered sugar and mix well with hands. Place the mixture in the mold and flatten it. Add charoli, badam, pista for garnishing. Let it cool in refrigerator. Remove and cut it into square or diamond shape according to your preference
