Make This Tasty Moong Dal Burfi at Home

About the Recipe

Today we are going to learn how to make moong dal burfi in a traditional and authentic method. You can store this for up to 2 to 3 days at room temperature and 8 to 10 days in the refrigerator. Oddy Uniwraps allows you to spread and set the burfi without having to clean up afterwards.

Ingredients

 

  • 1/2 Cup Yellow Moong Dal & 1/4 Cup or as required Ghee
  • 1 Cup Milk, 1/2 Cup Sugar & 1/4 Cup Water
  • 25-30 Saffron Strands & 1/2 tsp Cardamom Powder
  • As required Pistachio Slivers & Oddy Uniwraps

Directions

 

  • Wash moong dal twice and soak it in water for 5 hours. Strain the excess water and grind it into a fine paste in a mixer jar. In a pan, melt the ghee and stir in the moong dal paste. After 15 to 17 minutes, the mixture will become dry.
  • Then add milk to the moong dal mixture and mix well. Cook until the mixture separates from the pan. Meanwhile, prepare sugar syrup by melting sugar and water together with saffron strands. Add the sugar syrup to the moong dal mixture.
  • Cook until everything comes together and the mixture starts leaving the pan. Switch off the stove and transfer it to a mould lined with Oddy Uniwraps. Spread the burfi and let it set for a while. Garnish the sweet with chopped pistachios and cut it into small pieces.
