Milk Burfi Without Condensed Milk

About the Recipe

Today we are going to see how to make a popular Indian sweet called milk burfi. Today we are not going to use any condensed milk to make the burfis. You need only four ingredients to make the milk burfi. Oddy Ecobake is used to spread and set the milk burfi in a mould without greasing it.

Ingredients

 

  • 1.5 liter full fat milk & 150 gms sugar
  • 3 tsp ghee & 2-3 pinches of citric acid
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice & elaichi/cardamom (optional),
  • Pistachio for garnishing & Oddy Ecobake

Directions

 

  • Boil milk in a saucepan and keep stirring and scraping the walls until it reduces to half its original quantity. At this stage, add sugar to the milk and stir well until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Add lemon juice or citric acid to the mixture and combine well. Milk will break down and start forming grains. Keep stirring until the mixture completely solidifies. Switch off the stove and transfer the mixture to a mould lined with Oddy Ecobake.
  • Spread the mixture uniformly using a spoon or ladle. Allow it to set for a while, then demold the sweet and cut it into small pieces of the desired shape. Garnish them with pastachios. Your milk burfi is ready!
