Perfect Chocolate Sponge Cake

Perfect Chocolate Sponge cake is most required for all types of chocolate cakes. This recipe will help you bake the most perfect chocolate sponge cake, in a simple and easy way. While baking, the base of the cake sticks to the bottom of the tin.  So for easy removal, use Brown Oddy Ecobake papers. They are nonstick, easy, convenient, and safe to use.

Ingredients

 

  • 200 ml chocolate premix
  • 50 ml vanilla premix
  • 1-1.5 tbsp oil
  • water as per requirement
  • 1 tsp chocolate essence

Directions

 

  • Keep the cake baking tin ready by lining it with Brown Oddy Ecobake paper. In a bowl take 200 ml chocolate premix and 50 ml vanilla premix.
  • Mix the dry ingredients well. Then add 1-1.5 tbsp oil, 1/2 tsp chocolate essence and water and mix well.
  • Add water strictly as per requirement. First add less, and then depending on the consistecy if required add more. Pour the batter in the tin and tap the tin for atleast a minute to remove air bubbles and settle the cake evenly.
  • Take a large heavy bottomed vessel, place a stand inside. Then place the cake batter tin on the stand in the vessel. Make sure its kept in the centre. Cover the vessel properly.
  • Bake on medium flame for 45-50 mins. Don't remove the lid in the middle of baking, as it will release the temperature from the vessel, and this disturbs the baking process.
  • After 50 minutes, check with the help of a toothpick. When it comes clean from the centre of the cake, means he cake is well baked. Let the cake cool completely before cuting the slices.
