Smooth and Tasty Apple Coconut Burfi

“An apple a day, keeps the doctor away” is a well-known quote, but you don’t like to eat it as a fruit. Then this recipe shows you how to make apple burfi. The apple barfi is made with apples, coconut, and sugar and is also loaded with nuts. The Oddy Uniwraps paper foil is used in the recipe to make the smooth barfis.

Ingredients

 

  • Ripe Apples (big size)-2 & Ghee-2 tsp
  • Cashew nuts- ¼ cup & Crumbled khoya/Milk mawa-1/2 cup
  • Sugar-2/3 cups & Desiccated coconut-1 cup
  • Cardamom powder-1/4 tsp & Almond silvers- for garnishing

Directions

 

  • Grind the cashew nuts coarsely. Peel the skin of the apples and grate them. Heat ghee in a pan and fry grated apple for 5 minutes, until it gets separated from the pan. Then add khoya and cashew nut powder and mix for 3 minutes.
  • Add sugar until it melts completely. Add desiccated coconut; you can use almond powder instead. Cook it completely until it leaves the pan. Turn off the flame. Add cardamom powder, mix, and keep aside. Line a tray with oddy Uniwraps paper foil and grease it with ghee.
  • Spread the barfi mixture evenly with a ladle on the tray. Garnish with almond slices and press gently. Refrigerate for 2 hours. Take it out after 2 hours and unmold it. Cut into square pieces. The healthy and tasty apple barfi is ready for tasting. Store it in the fridge for 4-5 days.
