  • Sooji 1 cup
  • Sugar ½ cup
  • Fresh Curd ½ cup
  • Cocoa powder 1/4th cup
  • Oil 1/4th cup
  • Milk ½ cup
  • Baking powder 1 tsp
  • Hershey syrup 2-3 tbsp
  • Sprinklers

Directions

  • Grind the sooji in a mixer. In the same mixer add sugar, fresh curd, cocoa powder, oil and milk. Again, pulse the mixer to get a smooth batter.
  • Transfer the batter in a bowl. Cover and set the batter aside for 15 mins. Line the cake tin with Oddy Ecobake. Oddy Ecobake is grease-proof and perfect for baking cake.
  • Preheat a kadai adding salt and wire stand, covered in medium flame for 5-10 mins. Check the cake batter, for consistency after 15 mins. Sooji in the batter might have swelled. Add milk for adjusting consistency. Add baking powder and mix well.
  • Pour the cake batter in baking tin. Tap the tin 3-4 times to remove air bubbles. Place the tin in kadai, cook covered for 25-30 mins. Remove once the cake is done.
  • Cover it with a lid so that the upper layer does not become hard. Demold once the cake is completely cold. Decorate the cake with hershey’s syrup and spread it nicely. Add sprinklers on top and our Sooji cake is ready.
