Surat Special Schezwan Locho

About the Recipe

Locho is a steamed Gujarati farsan dish from Surat. It is made from gram flour. The dish derives its name from its loose consistency and irregular shape, like dumplings. Oddy Ecobake helps you steam the locho and roll that out without having to grease your hands.

Ingredients

 

  • 1cup split chick peas & 1/4cup split black gram
  • 1/4 cup rice, 1/4cup flatten rice & 1cup curd
  • 3cup water, salt to taste & 2tsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida & 1/4tsp turmeric &1tsp eno
  • Oddy Ecobake & Locha masala
  • Schezwan chutney, Sev and coriansder leaves

Directions

 

  • Grind chickpeas, black gram, rice, and flattened rice to a fine powder in a mixer jar. Transfer it to a bowl and mix it with curd and water. Let it rest for a while.
  • Grind the mixture again in a mixer jar and add more water, salt, turmeric, and hinge to it. Combine them well. Again, dilute it with water to make a thin batter.
  • Transfer the batter to a plate lined with Oddy Ecobake. Steam the mixture for 12 to 15 minutes in a kadai with water. Once it is cooked, add butter to it and mix well.
  • Place another Oddy Ecobake on it and press well. Apply schezwan chutney and spread well. Garnish with sev and coriander leaves.
  • Make it into a roll with the help of Oddy Ecobake. Garnish again with cheese, sev, and coriander leaves, Your Schezwan locho is ready!
