Tasty and Crispy Mirchi Vada

About the Recipe

Mirchi vadas are stuffed chili fritters that are popular in Rajasthan. They make a tasty, spicy teatime snack when accompanied by tomato ketchup or tamarind chutney. You can pack them in Oddy Uniwraps, which are made of organic cellulose that is safe for the microwave and helps to keep all of your foods clean for a longer period of time.

Ingredients

 

  • Besan - 1.5 cups & Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp & Salt - 1 tsp
  • Water - 1/2 cup, Mirchi - 7 & Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp & Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp green chilli paste & 1/4 tsp eno
  • Ginger - 1.5 inch & Green chillies - 4
  • Garlic cloves - 6 to 7 & Boiled potatoes - 2
  • Coriander powder - 1/4 tsp & Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
  • Aamchur powder - 1/4 tsp & Chopped onions - 2
  • Oil for frying & Oddy Uniwraps

Directions

 

  • Prepare the batter by mixing besan, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, and salt with water. Grind fennel seeds, cumin seeds, and coriander seeds together in a mixer jar to a coarse powder.
  • Grind ginger, garlic cloves, and green chillies in a mixer jar to a fine paste. Heat oil in a pan, add ground powder, chilli paste, and boiled and mashed potatoes to it, and mix well.
  • Add all the mentioned masalas to the potato mixture and cook until the raw smell disappears. Remove the seeds from the chillies or mirchi as shown and coat them with salt. Add onions to the potato stuffing.
  • Fill and coat the mirchis with potato stuffing. Dip and coat the stuffed mirchis in the besan batter. Fry them in hot oil until they turn golden in color. Transfer them to a plate lined with Oddy Uniwraps and pack them.
