Unique Bakery-Style Chocolate Cake

About the Recipe

We’re going to make a chocolate ganache cake with a geode effect using this recipe. By removing a piece of cake and filling it with sugar candy and edible gold coating, the geode effect is made to imitate the natural rock impression. The Oddy Ecobake facilitates even baking of the cake without causing it to stick to the bottom of the cake pan.

Ingredients

  • Chocolate cake premix -200 grams & Unflavoured Oil -2 tbsp
  • Water-1/2 cup+1 tbsp & Peach gel food colour -few drops
  • Sugar candy & Red cake puff colours/dust colour
  • Nozzle number 125, Leaf nozzle & Gold edible foil
  • Oddy Ecobake

Directions

  • Mix chocolate cake premix, oil, and water in a bowl and stir thoroughly. If you want to make your own chocolate cake premix, mix together all the ingredients given for chocolate cake premix powder in a bowl and keep it ready .
  • Now line the cake mould with an Oddy Ecobake and pour the batter into it without air bubbles by tapping it. In a preheated oven, bake the cake for 35-40 minutes at 160 degrees. Now the spongy cake is ready.
  • Take it from the mould after cooling and cut it into 4 pieces. For frosting, beat the whipping cream until you get stiff peaks . Apply frosting cream to a cake board and place a piece of cake on it.
  • Apply sugar syrup on it and apply whipping cream all over that layer. Now repeat the process for all the layers of cake. Add a few drops of peach food colour to the whipping cream and apply it on the bottom layer of cake and white cream on the top layer.
  • Smooth the frosting cream using a scrapper. Create a swirl design on the top of the cake using a cone . Carve out a chunk of cake and apply frosting cream and fill it with sugar candy to create a natural rock effect, then dust with red cake puff color.
  • Line the gold edible foil around the carved area. Decorate the cake using nozzle no.125 by using red and white colouring and creating a few rosettes and placing them on and around the cake. Use a leaf nozzle to decorate the rosettes.
