Ingredients

 

  • 3/4 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup fresh curd
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 cup maida
  • 2 tbp milk powder
  • 1 tsp banking powder & 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1 + 1/4 cup chilled whipping cream
  • sugar syrup (2 tsp + 1/4 water)
  • yellow and green food color, Chocohips & edible decorative
  • Oddy Ecobake

Directions

 

  • In a bowl, take powdered sugar and fresh curd, mix well. Then add oil, vanilla essence, milk and again it a good mix.
  • Then place a strainer and seive powered ingredients (maida, milk powder, baking powder, baking soda) and mix well, till it forms a smooth and lump free batter. Then add vinegar and again mix well. Pour the batter in a cake in lined with Oddy Ecobake for smooth base.
  • Preheat the oven at 160 degree for 9-10 mins, and bake the cake at same temperature for 30-35 mins. After cake is done, allow it to cool.
  • For icing, take chilled whipped cream and whisk it well. Cut the cake into three layers. Transfer the last layer on a cake board. Apply sugar syrup, whipped cream. Repeat this step till last layer.
  • Then coat the whole cake in icing with cream. Smothen the edges with a flat card. Then cut a small part of the cake diagonally. Then place the cake on the cut side. The base of the cake will be the cut side and cake will be in standing position.
  • Then cover the other side of the cake with whipped cream and smoothen the side. With a tapping movement, tap with a palette on the cake, it will give the cake a textured pattern. Next cut the pipping bag in shape of V. Pour yellow whipped cream, and gently make yellow flower petals in the shape of circle. Make two flowers close to each other.
  • Then in another V cut pipping bag, fill in green whipped cream and make leaves near the yellow flowers. In the centre of flowers, place chocochips or chopped chocolate pieces. Decorate with sugar coated pearls.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Gram Flour (Besan/Chickpea Flour)
  • 1 tablespoon Semolina (rava/sooji), optional
  • 1½ teaspoons Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon crushed Green Chilli-Ginger (or paste)
  • 1/4 cup Curd (plain yogurt)

Directions

  • Take all ingredients to prepare batter.
  • Pour approx. 2-3 cups water in steamer at bottom and heat it over medium flame.
  • Make sure that steamer is at least 4-5 minutes heated before placing the plates (filled with batter) in it.
  • Grease 2 small plates or thalis (4-5 inch diameter) using 1-teaspoon oil.
