  • Lemon juice - 1 tsp & Orange food gel - few drops
  • Water - 1/4 cup & Powdered sugar - 1/3rd cup
  • Chilled whipping cream -1 cup & Sugar - 2 tbsp
  • Sugar - 3 tbsp, corn flour - 1 tbsp, Water - 1/4 cup, orange gel - 1 drop
  • lemon juice - 1/2 tsp & Yellow liquid food color
  • green food gel, golden sugar balls & Oddy Ecobake
  • Brown Oddy Ecobake

Directions

  • Remove the orange juice and zest and set them aside. Mix the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add the wet ingredients to the cake along with the orange juice and orange zest.
  • Mix the wet and dry ingredients together to make cake batter. Transfer the cake batter to a cake mould lined with Brown Oddy Ecobake. Bake the cake for 45 minutes in a preheated vessel on the stove.
  • Once the cake is baked and cooled, divide it into three equal parts. Prepare orange crush by adding orange juice, pulp, sugar, and water to a pan and cooking until the mixture turns thick.
  • Place the first cake layer on a cake board, soak it with orange syrup, and apply whipped cream to it. Spread evenly. Spread the orange juice over the cream and spread it evenly.
  • Repeat the same process for the second and third layers of the cake. Frost the cake completely with whipped cream. Make a rippled pattern on the sides of the cake with a cake comb.
  • In the meantime, put the water for boil for placing the dhokla batter for steaming. Now pour the batter in the tray and pat the base to settle the batter equally. Sprinkle little red chilli powder on the batter.
  • Take a piping bag and apply two to three drops of yellow gel to its sides. Attach a 2D nozzle to it. Make 2 layers of rosettes on one side of the cake, as shown. Mix water, sugar, and corn flour in a pan and cook until it turns transparent.
  • Then add orange food gel and lemon juice to it to make an orange glaze. Decorate the other half of the cake with orange glaze as shown. Make leaf designs besides the rosettes with green cream.
  • Make small stars with yellow cream at the bottom of the cake using a star-shaped nozzle. Decorate the rosettes with golden sugar balls. Your orange cake is ready!
