Tilgul Chikki is Makar Sankranti special dish. This recipe requires only three main ingredients. The time required to prepare chikki is only 10 mins. Oddy Uniwraps helps in rolling out a perfect non-sticky chikki. Oddy Uniwraps is safe, grease-free, healthy, eco-friendly, and easy to use.

Ingredients

 

  • White Sesame :- 1 bowl
  • Plain or Organic jaggery :- 1 cup (not powdered jaggery)
  • Ghee: 2 tbsp
  • Oddy Uniwraps

Directions

 

  • Heat a pan, add 1 cup white sesame seeds and roast for 3-4 mins till it's color slightly changes. Remove from heat and keep aside in another vessel.
  • In the same pan, add 2 tbsp ghee. Add 1 cup of jaggery. Melt the jaggery in the ghee for 3-4 mins. Allow it to get mixed with the ghee completely.
  • Once the jaggery is melted, cook it further for another 2-3 mins till bubbles form. Once it nicely cooked and bubbles are formed, add in the roasted sesame seed.
  • Switch off the gas immediately. Mix the sesame seeds and jaggery mixture well. On a rolling board, place Oddy Uniwraps.
  • Pour the chikki mixture on Oddy Uniwraps and with rolling pin. Grease the rolling pin with a little ghee.
  • Roll out a thin chikki layer. Cut out the straight lines with help of a knife. Do all the steps after cooking when the chikki mixture is still hot/warm.
  • Allow it to cool and later break them into cubes as per the marked lines. Store it in the same Oddy Uniwraps in an air tight container.
