Besan Balls Gravy

About the Recipe

Try this yummy and easy besan ke gatte ki sabji or besan ball gravy. This dish is super tasty and super healthy. Ecobake non-stick liners help in steaming the balls in a steamer without getting stuck to the steamer. It also eliminates the need for additional cleanup.

Ingredients

 

  • Gram flour – ½ cup & Asafoetida – ¼ tsp
  • Carom seeds – ½ tsp & Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
  • Baking soda – A pinch & Salt – 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder – ¼ tsp & Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp & Curd – 2 tbsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp & Mustard seeds
  • Jeera and Fennel seeds, onion paste – 2 medium onions
  • Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder, garam masala and curd
  • Dry fenugreek leaves & coriander leaves

Directions

 

  • Prepare the dough by mixing gram flour, asafoetida, carom seeds, cumin seeds, baking soda, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, oil, and curd. Let the dough rest for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Grease oil on your hands and make small balls by taking out little portions of the dough. Line the steamer with Ecobake non-stick liners. Steam the balls for 10 minutes in the steamer.
  • Prepare masala by heating oil in a pan and adding mustard seeds, jeera, fennel seeds, and onion paste. Once the raw smell of the onion is gone, add the ginger-garlic paste, coriander powder, garam masala, and curd and cook well.
  • Once the oil starts oozing out, add the steamed gram flour balls to the curry and stir well. Add some water, dry fenugreek leaves and coriander leaves to the besan gate ke sabji and enjoy.
