Ingredients

  • Rava – 1 Cup & Curd – 1 Cup
  • Water – ½ Cup & Salt as required
  • Tomatoes – 2, Garlic Cloves – 6 & Red Chillies – 6
  • Mustard seeds, Urad dal, Curry leaves for tempering

Directions

  • Prepare rava batter by mixing rava, curd and water in a bowl. Add salt in the required amounts. Allow this batter to rest for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, boil tomatoes, garlic cloves, and red chillies in a bowl of water. Once everything is cooked well and the water has reduced to less than half, strain the remaining water.
  • Peel the skin of tomatoes and garlic and grind them along with red chillies in a mixer jar. Add salt as required to the mixture.
  • Divide the batter into 3 equal parts in 3 bowls. Add the tomato puree and baking soda to one part of the batter.
  • Take a cake mould and line it with Ecobake cooking paper, then pour one part of normal rava batter into it. Let it cook for some time until the upper part is cooked.
  • Now transfer the tomato puree batter onto the first layer and let it cook for some time. Once the upper layer is cooked, transfer the remaining rava batter.
  • Close the lid and cook everything for 15 to 20 minutes. Later, demould the rava cake and garnish with tempered oil. Cut the cake into pieces, serve, and enjoy.
