Dalbhari

About the Recipe

A stuffed paratha known as dalbhari is made with soaked split chickpeas and spices. Usually served for breakfast, this dish is very popular. It complements yogurt and pickles well. Ingredients

 

  • Ghee-2 tsp & Cumin seeds-1 tsp
  • Bay leaf-1 & Dry red chili-1
  • Garlic- 5 pods & Asafoetida-¼ tsp
  • Salt-1 tsp & Turmeric powder-¼ tsp
  • Split Chickpeas or Chana dal-1 cup & Water-½ cup
  • Coriander leaves & Chopped onions
  • Oddy Uniwraps

Directions

 

  • Heat the oil, let the cumin splutter, and add the bay leaf, dry red chili, garlic, and asafoetida to it and fry.
  • Add soaked chana dal to it and then add salt and turmeric powder to it and stir well.
  • Then add water to it and cook it well for 10 minutes in a pressure cooker, or up to 6 whistles.
  • Mash the cooked dal well when hot, add chopped onions and coriander leaves to it, and combine well.
  • Roll the wheat flour dough flat, fill it with a small ball of the mashed dal mixture, and roll it flat into parathas.
  • Cook it on both sides on a hot flat pan until it cooks well. The hot and delicious Dalbhari is ready to serve.
  • Wrap and pack it in Oddy Uniwraps to keep it fresh for a long time.
