Dudhi/Lauki Muthiya

About the Recipe

Traditionally, Muthiya is made using wheat flour. But this recipe uses Mix Farali Flour so we can consume it even during the fasting days. It becomes very soft and tasty so must try it at your home. Make Muthiyas using Oddy Non Stick liners for convenient cooking.

Ingredients

 

  • 250 grams Fresh Bottle gourd/Lauki/Dudhi
  • 200 grams or as required Mix Farali Flour
  • Rock Salt as per taste
  • 2 tsp Medium Sour Curd & 2 tsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 1 1/2 tsp Ginger Chilli Paste & Oddy Ecobake Non Stick Liners
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 2 tsp Oil (For Moyan) & 2 tbsp Oil (For Tempering)
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds/Jeera & 5-7 Curry Leaves
  • 2 tsp Coarsely Ground Peanuts
  • Chopped Coriander (For Garnishing)

Directions

 

  • For preparing Lauki  Muthiyas for 2 persons, take 250 gram of Bottle Gourd. Cut it into 4 smaller pieces.
  • Peel off the skin and then grate it.Transfer the grated Lauki into a mixing bowl and add the spices - rock salt, curd, sugar and coriander leaves.
  • Mix this well.Then add ginger chilli paste and black pepper powder. Mix it well and keep it aside.
  • Now add 1 cup of Mix Farali flour, oil and then mix all of this properly using your hands. Add Farali flour as and when required to knead soft dough.
  • Boil the water in a steamer and line the steamer plate with Oddy Ecobake Non Stick Liners.Grease your palms with oil and prepare medium-sized thick Muthiyas.
  • Keep them with some gap in between. Put the plate in a steamer, cover it and steam it on high flame for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Then with the help of a toothpick check if the Muthiyas are cooked well. Turn off the flame and cover the container with a cloth for sometime.
  • Delicious Muthiyas are ready to be served with Hot Tea or any type of Farali Chutney.
