Gujarati Gud Papdi

Traditional Gujarati Sweet – Sukhdi, also known as Gudpapdi. The process of making Sukhdi is very easy it is made with only three ingredients – Ghee, Wheat Flour & Jaggery. It is also served as a prasad in many temples. For easy demolding, try Oddy Uniwrap. Saves time from cleaning vessels and is nonsticky, safe, and convenient to use.

Ingredients

 

  • 2 Cup Melted Desi Ghee
  • 4 Cup Fine Wheat Flour
  • 2 Cup Grated Jaggery

Directions

 

  • Take a heavy bottom khadhai. Heat 2 cup melted ghee. Heat on low flame. Add 4 cup wheat flour. Mix and roast on low flame.
  • Mix and stir the mixture continuously on low flame. Roast untill it turns golden brown. It would take 12-15 mins to roast. Make sure the wheat flour is roasted well. Turn the heat off.
  • Keep stirring even after switching off the gas for 2-3 mins. Place the khadai on a steel rack, and allow the mixture to cool at room temperature.
  • Add 2 cups grated jaggery. Mix it well with flour. In a tin or plate, line it with Oddy Uniwrap for easy demoulding.
  • Pour the cooked mixture on the plate. Flatten and set it equally with the help of a katori. After 5-10 mins, cut it into square shape. Let it cool in room temperature. Unmould after one hour.
