Healthy Moong Dal Dhokla

Dhokla is a popular and traditional Indian recipe. Today we are going to make Dhokla with Moong dal. One of the key issues that people face when steaming dhokla is that it gets stuck to the pan. When we take it out, the shape gets broken. Ecobake helps in getting perfect dhokla shape without any greasing and no need of cleaning afterwards.

Ingredients

 

  • To Grind:
  • 3/4th cup split green gram
  • 1/2 cup flattened rice
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 1/2 cup curd
  • Batter Preparation:
  • 1/2 cup grated carrot
  • 1/4 cup chopped capsicum
  • 1/2 cup chopped coriander
  • 2 tbsp powdered coconut
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp eno
  • Tempering:
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 green chillies
  • curry leaves
  • 1/4 tsp hinge
  • 1/2 tsp white sesame seeds
  • coriander leaves

Directions

 

  • Soak moong dal and flattened rice for 4 hrs. Remove water from the soaked dal and flattened rice and grind them in a mixer jar along with curd, green chillies, and ginger.
  • To the batter, add all chopped veggies, turmeric, salt as per taste and hinge as mentioned in the ingredient list and mix well.
  • Now take a 6 inch cake tin and line it with Ecobake cooking paper. Transfer the prepared batter into the tin.
  • Place the tin inside the pre-heated kadai to cook the Dhokla. Cook the dhokla for about 15 to 20 minutes before switching off the stove.
  • In a pan, add 2 tbsp of oil, mustard seeds, green chillies, hinge, white sesame seeds. Now spread this tempering on the cooked dhokla evenly.
