How to make perfect Nankhatai

About the Recipe

Many of us have sweet memories of eating Nankhatai in our childhood. Its taste is very different from other biscuits and cookies. Undoubtedly, Nankhatais have a special place in our heart. Despite being hard to find in the market nowadays, you can now make crunchy and tasty Nankhatais at home, that too without using eggs.

Ingredients

 

  • Flour - 1 cup
  • Ghee - half a cup
  • Powdered sugar - 3/4 cup
  • Gram flour - 2 tbsp
  • Semolina - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - a pinch

Directions

 

  • First of all, add half a cup of ghee and 3/4 cup of powdered sugar in a bowl and beat the mixture for about 15 to 20 minutes with the help of a whisk.
  • After the mixture becomes light white in colour, add 2 tbsp of gram flour, 2 tbsp of semolina and 1 cup of maida. 
  • After kneading, you will see a ball of dough formed. Now you can give it any shape you want (round, oval or square).
  • Place the shaped nankhatais in a plate lined with Oddy Ecobake Cooking Paper circles and then place the plate in a preheated kadai for 10 minutes on low flame.
  • Nankhatai is ready in 25-30 minutes.
