How to Prepare Boondi Without a Ladle

Ingredients

 

  • 1 Cup Besan
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 Cup Jaggery
  • Water
  • Oil for frying

Directions

 

  • Put 1 cup of besan in a bowl and occasionally add water to it. Make sure that the batter doesn't get too thin without any lumps.
  • Mix 1 cup of jaggery and a little amount of water in a broad non-stick pan, mix well and cook on a high flame till the sugar syrup is of single-thread consistency.
  • When the sugar has completely dissolved and the syrup has become slightly sticky, turn off the heat and set aside.
  • Now heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Hold a perforated spoon a little above the oil and pour some besan batter on the spoon.
  • Allow small droplets to fall into the hot oil by tapping the edge of the spoon lightly. Now put the boondi in the sugar syrup and keep it for 5 minutes before taking out from the syrup.
  • Take a cake mould or any wide plate and line it with Oddy Ecobake and spread the boondis on it. Demold it after sometime and remove Oddy Ecobake and enjoy the sweet boondi.
