Masala Chakli without Maida

About the Recipe

For most occasions, including Diwali, South Indians cook the traditional snack known as chakli. We’re going to make masala chakli with this recipe without maida. Instead of preparing the chaklis on a greased plate, we can make them on Oddy Ecobake. There is no need for extra cleanup using this method.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice flour & ½ cup wheat flour
  • Salt to taste & 1/8 tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder & 1 tbsp black sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp melted butter & ¾ cup water
  • ½ tsp black pepper powder & ½ tsp chat masala
  • ½ tsp dry mango powder & ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • Oddy Ecobake

Directions

  • Mix the rice flour, wheat flour, salt, turmeric, red chilli powder, black sesame seeds, and melted butter in a mixing bowl.
  • Add water gradually to the bowl, mixing everything together to prepare the dough. Grease the chakli maker with oil and put the dough in it.
  • Cover the chakli maker with a lid. By applying pressure and moving the chakli maker spirally, start making chaklis on a piece of Oddy Ecobake.
  • Transfer these chaklis into hot oil in a pan using a dosa stick. Once the chaklis turn a golden brown colour, transfer them to a plate.
  • Prepare the masala by mixing black pepper powder, chat masala, dry mango powder, and red chilli powder. Sprinkle this masala powder on the chaklis to make masala chaklis.
