Matar Makhana Pulao

Today we are going to learn Matar Makhana Pulao. Matar Pulao is a favorite dish in every Indian household. Now we are going to add a twist to it by adding roasted makhana to the matar pulao. Oddy Ecobake helps you cook the matar pulao using dum, preserving its flavors and impeccable taste.

Ingredients

 

  • Rice -1.5 cup, Green peas-1/2 cup & Ghee-2-3 tbsp
  • Lotus seeds-2 cup, Bayleaf, Black pepper & Cloves
  • Mace, Green cardamom, Black cardamom & cinnamon
  • Curd-1/2 cup, Green chilly-2 small & salt to taste
  • Saffron -2 pinch, Onion-2 medium & Cream-2-3 tbsp
  • Green coriander -a handful & Oddy Ecobake

Directions

 

  • Wash and soak 2 cups of basmati rice in water for some time. Meanwhile, add ghee to a kadai and sauté onions, jeera, and other spices, as shown.
  • Add green peas soaked in hot water to the kadai and sauté well. Add curd and a little water to the kadai and let it cook for some time.
  • Then add 3 cups of water and let it come to a boil. Add slit green chillies and saffron to the boiling water and mix well. Now add rice to the water and let the level of water reduce.
  • Place Oddy Ecobake on the kadai and close it with a lid as shown. Place the kadai on a preheated tawa and cook it on a high flame for 5 minutes.
  • In the meantime, roast makhana in ghee and add it to the matar pulao. Garnish the matar makhana pulao with cream or malai and serve hot!
