Milk Shankarpale In Five Different Shapes

About the Recipe

Milk Shankarpali in five different shapes. Make this for kids as a snack or tea time eatable. It is made of very few ingredients, and the main ingredient is milk. Brown Oddy Ecobake papers, can be used to keep the shankarpali. It is nonsticky and retains its shape. Plus can store for 15-20 days in Brown Oddy Ecobake paper.

Ingredients

 

  • 3.5 cups maida
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup ghee
  • Elaichi powder of 5-6 Elaichi
  • 2 pinches of salt & oil or ghee for frying

Directions

 

  • In a vessel, add milk, powdered sugar, ghee and elaichi powder. Mix with a spoon and give it a light boil, till it turns lukewarm.
  • Sieve the maida before use. Add the milk mixture and kneed a smooth and firm dough. Cover it and let it rest for 15-20 mins.
  • After resting the dough, give a quick knead and make 5 small dough balls. Roll out uniform and thick chapaties from the dough. Keep the cut out shankarpali on Brown Oddy Ecobake papers, it will save it from sticking to base and retain shape.
  • Shape 1: Traditional way of straight line and diagonal lines. Shape 2: Take a round cap, and cut out circles from the rolled chapati.
  • Shape 3: With round bottle cap, cut out semi circles. Shape 4: With the help of shaper (round circular shape) cut lines vertically and diagonally.
  • Shape 5: Traditional shape, cut out straight horizontally and vertically. Heat oil or ghee in a deep bottomed khadai. Once hot, keep flame on medium to low. Gently pour in the shankarpali and fry.
  • Turn the sides only when the shankarpali rises to the surface of the oil. Fry till light golden color. Place the fried shankarpali on Brown Oddy Ecobake papers. t will absorb all excess oil, strore in air tight box in same paper.
