Raw Tomato Chutney

If you are bored of eating the same kind of chutneys with your roti or rice, then try this raw tomato chutney. It is a perfect blend of spiciness, sourness, and a tinge of sweetness and an excellent side dish for Akki rotti, Ragi rotti, Idli, Dosa, and even rice. The chutney is ground, spread on ragi rotti, and packed in a container with Oddy Uniwraps Brown, which are grease-proof and moisture-balancing to keep your food fresh and hygienic for a long time.

Ingredients

  • Raw green tomato -1/2 kg & Tamarind -1 small lemon size
  • Oil-1 tbsp & Green chili -8 & Red chilli -3
  • Curry leaves – few & Garlic pods-20 & Cumin-1/2 tsp
  • Chopped onion-1 & Salt – to taste
  • Peanuts- 3 tbsp & Ragi rotti
  • Oddy Uniwraps Brown

Directions

  • Heat oil in a pan, add both chilies, garlic, curry leaves, cumin, and tamarind to it, and stir well. Take them into a plate and keep aside.
  • Then heat the oil in the pan, then add the chopped onions and chopped tomatoes, salt to it, cover, and cook for 3 minutes, then add the cilantro and set aside.
  • Dry-roast the peanuts on a low flame and remove the skin from them.
  • Grind the chilli mixture and roasted peanuts with the cooked tomato mixture, along with salt and fresh coriander leaves, into a coarse chutney.
  • For tempering, heat the oil, let the mustard seeds splutter, then add the curry leaves and fry. Add the tempering to the chutney and mix.
  • Cut a ragi rotti into four pieces, spread the tomato chutney on them, grease with little ghee and pack. Pack them in Oddy Uniwraps Brown to keep them fresh and hygienic for a long time.
