Split Cake with a Unique Decoration Technique

Today we are going to make a split cake, which is a visual treat for your eyes and tastes amazing too. Oddy Ecobake helps in getting the perfect shape for your cake without greasing the mould, and there is no need for additional cleanup.

Ingredients

 

  • Chocolate cake premix – 200gm, Oil – 2 tbsp & Water – ½ cup + 1 tbsp
  • Pink and purple food gel
  • Yellow and green food gel
  • Whipping cream
  • Golden sugar balls
  • Oddy Ecobake

Directions

 

  • Prepare cake batter by mixing cake premix with oil and water. Transfer the cake batter into a cake mould lined with Oddy Ecobake. Bake the cake for 40 to 45 minutes in a preheated oven at 160 °C.
  • Once the cake is baked and cooled, divide the cake into 3 equal parts. Prepare chocolate frosting by mixing cocoa powder and sugar into whipped cream and beating it until stiff peaks are formed.
  • Place the first layer of the cake on a cake board, soak it with sugar syrup, apply chocolate frosting, and add grated dark chocolate. Repeat the same process for the second and third layers of the cake.
  • After crumb coating the cake, cut a 1/4th portion of it using a knife. Frost the remaining portion of the cake with whipped cream. Make a swirl pattern at the back of the cake using a cake comb.
  • Make pink and purple roses using a straw with a small rose shaped nozzle as shown. Use these roses to decorate the front part of the cake. Make leaves using green cream on the borders of the roses.
  • Fill the roses with a drop of yellow cream. Make a braided pattern on the top of the cake using a star-shaped nozzle. Make a drop design at the bottom of the cake as shown. Decorate the top of the cake with golden sugar balls.
