Stuffed Bao

About the Recipe

We are all familiar with buns that are made by baking. Today we are going to learn how to make stuffed baos that are made by steaming the dough. Oddy Ecobake helps you bake the bao without getting stuck to the oven tray, so there is no need for additional cleanup.

Ingredients

 

  • lukewarm water - 1/2 cup & yeast - 1 tsp
  • sugar - 2 tsp, maida - 1 cup & milk powder - 2 tbsp
  • corn flour - 1 tsp, olive oil - 1 tbsp, garlic & ginger
  • oinions, capsicumm, salt & pepper
  • 1/4 tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp green chilli paste & 1/4 tsp eno
  • soya sauce - 1 tbsp & red chilli sauce - 1 tbsp
  • tomato sauce - 1 tbsp & paneer slices
  • corn flour slurry & Oddy Ecobake

Directions

 

  • Activate the yeast by mixing it with lukewarm water and sugar. Let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Prepare the dough by mixing maida, milk powder, salt, and the activated yeast mixture.
  • Once the dough is ready, let it rest for 2 hours. Divide the dough into 6 portions as shown.
  • Flatten the dough using your hands on a rolling pin. Fold it in half as shown, place it on the Oddy Ecobake, and let it proof for some time.
  • Meanwhile, pour water into a steamer and let it boil. Place the raw baos in the steamer and let them cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • In the meantime, prepare chilli paneer stuffing. Heat oil in a pan, add ginger, garlic, onions, and capsicum, and sauté them well.
  • Add the sauces as mentioned and salt as required. Add cubed panner pieces or panner slices to the pan and give them a good mix.
  • Once the baos are steamed, you can stuff them with the prepared chilli panner. Your tasty stuffed baos are ready!
