Vanilla Idli Cake

A twist to regular cake, this is something fun and easy to make. Pack this in tiffin for kids or enjoy as a tea time snack. Ingredients

 

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3/4th cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp vanilla powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1/4th cup refined oil
  • 3/4th cup milk (room temperature)
  • 2 tsp tutti fruity
  • ½ tsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • Oddy Uniwraps

Directions

 

  • Grease the idli steamer plates with oil nicely. Add some salt in idli cooker, keep the steaming plate and let the cooker preheat on low flame for 10 mins.
  • In a bowl sieve and add 1 cup all-purpose flour, milk powder, powdered sugar, vanilla powder, baking powder, baking soda and mix well.
  • Now add refined oil, milk, vanilla essence. Make sure there are no lumps formed. In a small bowl add ½ tsp all-purpose flour and tutti fruity and mix well. Add this to our idli batter and mix well.
  • Now fill this batter in our greased idli plates and add few tutti fruity on top. Keep the idli plates in our pre-heated idli cooker and bake for 20-25 mins on low flame.
  • After 25 mins prick with a toothpick and if it comes clean our Vanilla idli is ready. Once cooled remove from idli plates. Pack Vanilla Idli Cake in tiffin for kids. You can also keep the leftover Vanilla Idlis in Oddy Uniwraps to keep it fresh for longer.
