Thekua In Air Fryer

About the Recipe

Thekua is a traditional Indian sweet snack hailing from the northern regions, particularly Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. It’s a popular treat often prepared during festivals like Chhath Puja and Diwali. The recipe involves making a dough with whole wheat flour, ghee, jaggery or sugar, and spices like cardamom and fennel seeds. Ingredients

 

  • Whole wheat flour- 2 cup & Jaggery powder- 1 cup
  • Ghee- 4 tbsp & Dry coconut chopped- 1/4 cup
  • Fennel seeds or saunf- 1 tbsp & Cardamom powder- 1 tsp
  • Milk- 1/2 cup + 3-4 tbsp
  • Oddy Ecobake Cooking Paper Tray

Directions

 

  • In a mixing bowl, take 2 cups of wheat flour and add ghee to it. Mix this well. The flour will become coarse which means that our flour is ready.
  • Add fennel seeds, dry chopped coconut and crushed cardamom to give it a new texture. Now put in the jaggery powder and mix everything well.
  • Then add milk little by little and keep mixing as shown. The dough should be stiff. The dough will take some time to bind so keep adding some milk.
  • Prepare semi-soft dough for making Thekua. Now divide the dough into small portions according to the thickness you want.
  • With the help of a thekua mould, you can make different designs as shown. We will air fry it so line the basket with an Oddy Ecobake Cooking Paper Tray.
  • Place all thekuas on the tray and bake it at 1980 degrees for about 15 minutes. If thekuas are not baked properly, you can air fry it for another 5-10 minutes.
  • Our air fried khasta Thekuas are ready to serve.
