Instant Rawa Uthappam

Try this instant Rawa Uthapam recipe which can be made withina  few minutes. You can add veggies to like onion, carrot, and cabbage to give it more crunchiness. Oddy Uniwraps helps in wrapping the Uthapams for your lunch box to keep them soft and hot for longer.

Ingredients

 

  • Suji-1 cup & Gram flour-2-3 tbsp
  • Rice Flour-2-3 tbsp & Baking powder-1/4 tsp
  • Curd-1 cup & Salt- to taste
  • Onion-1 medium & Capsicum-1 medium
  • Green chilli-1 medium & Cabbage-1 small
  • Oil for shallow frying & Oddy Uniwraps

Directions

 

  • In a mixing bowl, take suji or rawa and then add gram flour, rice flour, salt for taste followed by curd. Mix all of this well. 
  • Add some water to the dough and keep adding till you get the desired consistency. Let it rest for about 15 minutes.
  • Chop all the veggies of your choice and remember that hard veggies will have to be boiled first.
  • After 15-20 minutes, you will see that the suji or rawa has thickened. Add some water to give it a flowing consistency.
  • For batter fermentation, we will add baking powder. The batter is ready now.
  • To make dosas or uthapams, iron tawa is better. Add some oil and clean it just to grease it. Add batter to the tawa and spread it as per your liking.
  • Once bubbles appear, add the veggies and fill it as shown. Sprinkle some salt and black pepper as well. Add some oil from the sides and top.
  • You can use ghee or butter also. Press a bit from the top as shown in the video. Keep the flame on low to medium.
  • Flip the uthapam now and cook it from the other side as well. Press the edges well and mark 2 holes for heat transfer.
  • Flip it again and garnish it with green coriander leaves. Delicious rava uthapam is ready to eat with coconut chutney.
  • Serve it on a plate lined with Oddy Uniwraps to avoid moisture and so it doesn't become soggy while eating.
