Ingredients

 

  • 4 tbsp ghee & edible gond
  • Kishmish or raisins
  • Almonds and walnuts
  • Cashew nuts & sunflower seeds
  • Melon seeds and pumpkin seeds
  • Fox Nuts & grated coconut
  • Khus Khus or Poppy Seeds
  • Green Cardamom & Jaggery
  • Grated pista
  • Oddy Ecobake & 2 tbsp water

Directions

 

  • In a kadhai, add ghee and let it heat up. Then lower the flame and fry gond. Fry it till the colour changes and then take it out. In the same ghee, we will roast kishmish or raisins followed by almonds, cashew nuts and walnuts.
  • Then add in the seeds and roast till the colour changes slightly. Now roast the fox nuts followed by grated coconut which can be roasted without ghee too. In the end, roast some poppy seeds or khus Khus.
  • Apart from grated coconut and khus khus, grind the remaining things. Mix everything well and add in some green cardamom. Take jaggery of roughly half the amount of prepared dry mixture.
  • Set the mithai tin with Oddy Ecobake so that it doesn't stick to the surface and comes out easily. In a kadhai, add in some ghee and cook the jaggery on medium flame till it melts down and add some water to it. Mix it well.
  • Once the boil comes, turn off the flame and add in all the dry ingredients. Mix everything well. Turn on the flame and cook it for a few seconds till you get the desired consistency. Then you can switch off the flame.
  • Transfer the prepared batter into the mithai tin and garnish it with grated pista along with some grated coconut. Make slices as shown and let it cool down to room temperature.
  • Your delicious Mewa Paag is ready to serve.
